The evolution of cosmetic treatments in recent times has been so spectacular that there is now international talk of cosmetogenetics. But I have noticed that the major manufacturers of professional cosmetic lines, with their own laboratories and decades of research to their credit, are combining in their treatment protocols science with... an oriental technique, thousands of years old: acupressure.

Presopuncture is a form of alternative medicineIt is considered a kind of "needle-free version of acupuncture", which aims to restore health by removing the "root" of disease and rebalancing the body. It differs from reflexotherapy in that the pressure is applied to points distributed over the whole body and not just the reflex areas at the extremities.

The acupressure is based on the 12 main energy meridians that run through the human body (6 Yin and 6 Yang) and 365 acupressure points. The meridians start at the tips of the fingers and connect with the brain and each associated organ. They are real "pathways" through which the vital Qi/Chi energy passes through the body. When one of these "channels" becomes blocked, illness occurs. Energy blockages can be cleared by the therapist by pressing on certain points with the fingertips/articulations for 30-60 seconds. Depending on the condition, the pressure can be clockwise, anticlockwise or in the meridian direction. During this time, the patient may feel a sensation of discomfort or pain, the intensity of which depends on the degree of sensitivity of each individual.

The benefits of acupressure in the cosmetic office are multiple. The beautician can alleviate migraines, various types of pain (muscle, joint, dental, menstrual, neck or ear), dizziness that some people have when they suddenly get up from the cosmetic bed and panic attack following the application of cosmetic mask covering the eyes or mouth.

The benefits of cosmetic acupressure are incredible:

- stimulating facial muscles and increasing skin tone;

- creating a non-surgical facelift and lifting of drooping eyelids;

- restoring skin elasticity and reducing wrinkles;

- relief of puffy face and under-eye bags;

- stimulation of collagen production;

- regulating the functions of internal organs and activating lymphatic drainage (for healthy, blemish-free skin).

To all this we add the reduction of stress and muscle tension, conditions so necessary for the health of all...
