10 principles of Buddhist wisdom. All religions incorporate a great treasure trove of wisdom, applicable to everyday life. Tich Nhat Hanh says Buddhism is created from non-Buddhist elements. And it couldn't be more true. Buddhism is a collection of methods to realize the truths of life and the way to discover true peace and happiness. Here are 10 principles of Buddhist wisdom that will transform your life:
Compassion is one of the most valued qualities in Buddhism, and high compassion is a sign of realization.
Compassion doesn't just help the world as a whole and is not just about doing the right thing. Compassion and trying to help those around you but it can transform your life. Self compassion is critical to achieving inner peace. Compassion is understanding the goodness hidden in everyone and seeking that goodness. Seek to lead a life where you treat everyone as you would like to be treated.
In Buddhism, the community of practitioners is called a sangha. The community prays together for the common goal of realizing an even greater awakening, not only for themselves but for all beings.
People often gather together, but usually to increase their wealth or gain extra power, rarely to gain peace, happiness and wisdom.
"Sangha" is the way of looking at life through the individual expression of the whole.
One of the most important things is to simply live absolutely centered in every moment of life. Mindfulness, heightened mindfulness, living presence - whatever you want to call it changes your life in every aspect.
Strive to live each moment of your life fully grounded, to overcome your personal battles, to find peace and joy and to understand the great lessons that life gives you every moment.
Live in a way that is truly mindful of how precious life is - it's how you start on the path to balance and happiness. Why? Because that way you will slowly, slowly become aware of the nature of the world. You will understand how everything is interconnected, that everything is transient - everything changes, disappears to reappear in another form. In this way we will cultivate the ability to savor every moment of life, to find peace in the most difficult activities, and the power to transform negative experiences into good life lessons.
Buddhists believe that it is hard to help someone else before helping yourself. Of course they don't mean being rich or powerful before helping others or ignoring others.
It refers to the fact that everyone being interconnected, helping yourself creates an exponentially positive effect on the rest of the world.
Be a role model for those around you.
Death is often a taboo subject in Western society. By becoming deeply aware of our fragility, of impermanence, by understanding the universe with all its interconnections - we can find the ultimate peace.
Life cannot be truly appreciated unless you become aware of your impermanence.
A deep sense of gratitude should be cultivated in your relationship with food before each meal, to learn and respect the delicate balance of life.
Life is a balance between giving and receiving. It is important to understand the wonderful gifts we can give in each moment - love, compassion and caring.
- gluttony
- hooray
- deception
Accept what you feel and try to eliminate them from your life - so you can be free and happy.
It doesn't mean abandoning your friends and family and living alone for the rest of your life. On the contrary, live simply, naturally, building the career you want, with your family, but accepting the impermanence of everything and everyone in your life.
Strive to live freely, surrounded by all the wonders of life, but without clinging to them, and you will achieve the greatest joy that life has to offer.
