"Huna" in Hawaiian translates as "secret" and "kahuna" via "keeper of the secret". Practically Kahuna therapists have passed this healing ritual from generation to generation and many people from other continents have traveled to learn this ancient technique.
Forgiveness therapy, also called "loving arms therapy", Lomi Lomi is based on the principle "Ho`oponopono. This can be interpreted by "making things right, correcting mistakes". Through this holistic therapy, the therapist aims to connect (or reconnect) the body-heart-spirit, based on the belief that all 3 fields must be treated, healed and loved as a whole, not separate. It is useless to pay attention to the physical, if the spirit is broken or if we are emotionally at a standstill.
I attended for the first time a training held in 2012 by Daniela Dumitru, Budha Bar international trainer (whom I really want to thank for all the knowledge I have gained about this ritual and more) and this is the therapy that made me "fall in love" and understand that massage is not just a rub on the skin, but a true healing art at a much deeper level, so we decided to enjoy the guests Alma Health & Spa Retreat with this wonderful indigenous Hawaiian protocol and tell you briefly why this therapy is so special.
For a long time I thought that "Forgiveness Therapy" referred to the ability to forgive other people, but after a long time I realized that above all it is extremely important to forgive, accept and love ourselves!
The Kahuna therapists believed that our world is built from the thoughts we have and that everything that happens in our lives is a reflection of our own thoughts.
"In the vision of a kahuna, the mind is like a garden and thoughts are like seeds. They sprout and bear fruit. We must be careful what thoughts we plant in our mind, for inevitably we will reap what we have sown."
And to be a bit more explicit, I ask you:
Have you ever had a bad day and on that very day you have a fight with your partner, your parents, your boss and you ask yourself the question: why is it today, when I am having such a bad day, that this is happening to me?
But have a very good day full of smiles and then everything will go smoothly?
If we have an interaction with a person with a combative behavior, it is useful to realize that the people we come in contact with are a mirror for us and that the aggressiveness of that person is nothing but the outward projection of our own repressed aggressiveness.
If the boss instills in us that we are not good enough for the job, then his words are only a reflection of what we ourselves subconsciously think about ourselves.
When you become aware of the problem you are experiencing physically, emotionally, mentally you can begin the process of purifying your thoughts through forgiveness and remorse: "Sorry! Please forgive me! I am sorry because I have made you a hostage of my thoughts and through the negativity of my thoughts, I have destructively influenced your behavior".
Lomi Lomi is a therapy of Purification through Forgiveness and it works on 4 expressions that we address to the Divine in order to return to us:
During therapy we communicate to our guests to be open.
Do not be embarrassed if emotions are too strong and do not hold back if they want to cry.
Inhale and exhale deeply and say these 4 phrases out loud or in thought. They can say them whenever they feel the need to do so, it can be during the whole massage.
They can be said in any order according to the memories that flow during the massage.
The vibration of these words, passed through the heart, erases the energies of painful memories that have left traces in the emotional body.
By reduplication of expressions, somato-emotional discharges can take place, certain memories charged with their energies can be unlocked, as they were treated in the past, but the degree of awareness is divergent (the resolution comes on the current vibration, not on the past one).
It is performed on the whole body at once (from the heels to the back we use a single maneuver), through sensory, fluid movements, covering large, flowing areas like the waves of the sea, like a continuous embrace - "the bridal embrace".
Movements are performed mainly with the forearm but also with the palms, also using stretching and folding (stretching), gentle vibration, shaking - "swaying emotions", rotating movements of the shoulder joints - wing de-tensioning – "You are free to fly! Let yourself into the will and infinity of the heavens!".
