The 2 signature therapies that amplified my well-being - at Creanga Spa

That night I slept excellent. I don't know if the saltwater bath in my own spring Creanga Resort - that I told you about hereor from the salty air, the cozy bed or simply because it was the first break I had had in weeks.

The second day, as usual, I woke up very early. The restaurant opened at 8. I took advantage of the water heater in the room - because in the morning, on an empty stomach, I drink a glass of warm water.

I went for a walk and at 7:45, I went to the restaurant.

A very nice girl warned me they don't open till 8:00. And yet she helped me with an espresso. As I sipped it and admired the swans that were also starting their day, I could hear her asking another colleague what she could do after she had set all the tables outside.

By the time I finished my coffee, Elena, the owners' daughter and my contact person, had arrived. I told her that I was impressed by the girl who is so jumpy and she replied that she is a high school student and for the past 2 years, after turning 16, she has been working for them during her summer vacation. That's when I found out that Elena is in charge of interviewing and hiring - an important topic in a market where everyone is facing the problem of staff shortages.

After an egg, a few veggies and another espresso over a story with Elena, I went out to shoot the video you'll see on Youtube and then went in:

Therapeutic massage with salt bags

Just like salt water bathRobert was also the therapist.

At the moment, Creanga Spa has no specific concept, but signature treatments are salt-based. That's why I chose a salt sachet massage - a reinterpretation of Tibetan massage -  with bags of local salt from the Trotus Mine.

The therapy started with a therapeutic back massage. I had told her that I like deep massages - and although she initially explained that the effect of the massage is even better if the pressure is not so strong - she understood that I like it that way and that this is more important than the effect itself. So I had a super deep massage.

This was followed by a back massage with hot stones to soothe the pain and induce deep muscle relaxation.

And at the end she put the salt bags on my back, to reduce intervertebral inflammation. While the bags worked, she massaged my feet and soles - which was very welcome. I don't know about you, but for me the foot and scalp massages have an incredible effect, they relax me almost instantly.

Towards the end, he also put stones on my feet and with two heated salt bags, and continued the massage.

I turned around, and a massage of the palms and again of the soles followed. As I sat with my bags on, wrapped in prospop, Robert's wife Cristina, who is also a therapist at Creanga Spa, pampered me with a short but effective facial 🙂

Because I had chosen the anti-aging facial massage option, she also used jade stone.

He told me that they have also introduced this massage as part of the therapy with bags, because it helps, in just 15 minutes, to lower the level of anxiety - which, unfortunately, is increasingly present in the lives of Romanians.

The jade stone helps stimulate nerves and pressure points in the face. By activating the blood microcirculation, it helps oxygenate the skin tissues, leaving you with a revitalized complexion and a much better mood.

Just as well, after the massage the guys from the fishing came and we had lunch together.

Edi, the youngest in our family, is a picky eater, generally doesn't like anything except pasta, pizza and fish. But here we had no problem with him. He ate varied and more, he insisted on eating 3 meals/day. And on the last day he kept us there until noon, just for meals.

Truth be told, their dishes were a surprise to me too. As Creanga Resort is based on a Family Guests concept, I was expecting not a fine dining menu, but I didn't expect the food to be so good and the portions much more generous than they look in the pictures:

The day at Creanga Spa ended with one last therapy: a  Package for neck pain

Neck pain has been part of my life for years, as I told you here. Now I don't have this problem anymore, but I wanted to do the therapy because I know how many people deal with them, and I thought it might help to describe what happens and why.

See it starts with a local massage. As I'd just had one in the morning, I cut it short because it's not healthy to have 2 therapeutic massages in one day.

So he paraffinized me pretty quickly.

Paraffin wrapping is a common procedure in spa centers because paraffin combined with massage and/or physiotherapy has been proven to speed up the recovery process.

The paraffin was warm, even hot. He spread it on the back and then covered me with a sheet and a prospop. It felt like a hard, thick paste, much denser than the photos show.

While I was wrapped in paraffin - about 15-20 minutes - he gave me a reflexogenic massage, also very relaxing.

Afterwards, while he was wiping me, I asked him about the benefits of paraffin, because it's the first time I tried paraffin therapy.

In addition to many other reasons, we noted that paraffin wrapping increases the extensibility of collagen in tendons, ligaments, joint capsules.

But it also increases capillary vasodilation, which has the effect of improving blood circulation in the region where it is applied, as it activates local metabolism - which helps to relax muscles.

At the end he applied kinesiology tapes

are elastic bandages that he places in key areas of the body, on muscle, joint and/or ligament injuries. It stimulates the peripheral circulatory and lymphatic systems directly and the muscular and neurological systems indirectly.

I hadn't tried the kinesiology tapes before, nor had I followed the instructions.

He told me to stay with them for 2-3 days, I didn't last more than 1 night and a few hours the next day. They embarrassed me. I know many people that the bands have helped - including my husband. But I just couldn't stand them. So I can't tell you what effect they had.

But staying at Creanga Spa ResortIt definitely had a super effect on us. It's amazing how there are week-long vacations from which you come back more tired than you were when you left, and stays of only 3 days, from which you come back energized. Obviously the spa treatments also contribute, but the destination itself certainly helped too: the green space, as wide as the eye could see, the salty air, the comfort of the room and the friendliness of all the staff.
