On 29 May 2014 despreSpa.ro organizes the first annual conference of the Romanian Spa market.

10 years later, on 14-16 May 2024, we will meet again at the Spa Romania Conference - dedicated to the most important players in the industry, the leaders who make the difference and bring Spa and wellness experiences to the level of art.

Because art means fine feelings and sensations, which touch our mind and soul, we have chosen as location Balvanyos Resort, an emblem for the Spa and at the same time, a hub of meetings and camps for Romanian artists.

Lilea Lavinia is a therapist at the Thai Therapy Center in Timisoara, graduate of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy "Victor Babes" - Specialization in balneophysiokinetotherapy, Master's degree in rehabilitation in neurological diseases and in Kinetotherapy in orthopedic-traumatic pathology. His passion for manual therapies was discovered during his studies at the University, following the courses of the Elena Nastaca Thai Therapy School, affiliated with the Chiang Mai TMC International School in Thailand, continuing his therapeutic practice in the same center. She is the kind of therapist who grows in one year as others grow in 3. If she had to describe it in one word, Thai therapy for her is balance, both for the therapist and the recipient. Her belief is that destiny guides you to the right places for you. This is how she was guided to Thai and to Elena, the teacher who shaped her most beautiful path to evolution. At the Thai Therapy Centre she learned to help people with musculoskeletal disorders, but also emotionally. The supreme motivation is people, those who need a therapist able to create health through every pressure and touch. The smile and peace of mind of each beneficiary after therapy is enough for her. That is where she gets her fulfilment and motivation from.

Elena Nastaca

Elena Nastaca is an affiliated teacher of the TMC Chiang Mai International School in Thailand and for 8 years she has been teaching their curricula in Romania, specialization courses in Thai massage techniques for therapists both in Romania and abroad. He has written 11 massage manuals, has over 13000 hours of therapeutic practice, over 8000 hours of courses taught. Out of a desire to bring to Romania the Asian tradition for a long and healthy life, in harmony with body, mind and soul, she has attended all the courses of TMC Chiang Mai and Ong's School in Thailand as well as Koyasan School of Shiatsu in Japan. Master in Kinetoprophylaxis and Physical Rehabilitation, he has always sought to combine knowledge from classical medicine, oriental medicine, energy therapy and psychotherapy to create the most effective therapy protocols. He is the manager of the Thai Therapy Centre in Timisoara, as well as of the Thai Therapy Centre in the Amazonia Complex in Timisoara and of the Thai Therapy School where he is constantly sharing his acquired knowledge with the team of therapists and with all the participating students in order to promote health based on prevention in Romania, based on the millenary experience of the Asians.

Daniela Dumitru invites you on an initiatory journey through high vibrational sounds, using Tibetan bowls and other vibrational instruments. Each moment will be filled with sound and each sound will be charged with a particular frequency. He will introduce you to some basics about Tibetan bowls, so that you can perceive through your own being the importance of using bowls in therapy. We will sing together, we will be the creators of a small harmonious concert orchestrated on the spot, intuitively, according to the experience of each participant. We expect you to feel yourself as you did not know you were, to feel and hear yourself vibrating in the deep planes of being and then carry forward the memory of each experience.

Daniela Dumitru

She started her career as a nurse, then discovered Spa and realized she was made for it and soon became a Spa therapist. She came into contact with monks, nuns, those so-called masters who gave her the right stories at the right times. All of these have made their mark in defining her as a person, but also as a therapist. She had contact with many religions, many rituals from different areas. Today, Daniela is an international trainer at Buddha Bar Spa, currently B'Attitude Spa, she has taught massage courses in renowned centers in Evian les Bains, Paris, Dakar, Budapest and the largest spas in Romania.

Balvanyos Resort Guide

At the Apor Girls' Baths, on an area of only a few dozen square metres, there is a multitude of mineral water springs, among which eight different chemical compositions have been identified. How can this be explained? It is a spectacular manifestation of the post-volcanic phenomena of Mount Puturosu. This place is also called the Dead Valley because carbon dioxide is coming out of the ground almost everywhere and vegetation is missing. The phenomenon is most visible at mineral springs where the gas bubbles up and makes the water look like it's boiling.

Entry period for the Spa Romania Awards: 16 January - 29 February

There will be 15 prize categories.

In 14 of them, the winners will be chosen by the jury members: specialists with extensive international Spa experience. 

All types of spa, wellness and spa centres can apply.

For the 14 prize categories, the price is EUR 150 + VAT / category / sub-category.

In each category you will have to fill in an Application form and submit material such as photos and videos.

There is one category which is FREE and for which only the public vote will count, the jury is not involved: BEST SPA EXPERIENCE

Day Spas offering therapies based on recognized natural health resources (thermal waters, mineral waters, mophetes, seawater, salt lakes, salt pans, mud baths, etc.), available in spas or resorts of national interest, and other non-invasive medical therapies that are recommended by a Dr. specialized in Recovery, Physical Medicine and Balneology.

Treatments are professionally administered by a medical team.

In this category, SPA Hotels/Resorts are expected to compete whose aim is to guide users to develop healthy lifestyle habits. This is achieved through comprehensive programmes of spa services, exercise activities, wellness education, healthy nutrition, etc. to touch all aspects of a healthy lifestyle. They can be focused on: de-stress, detox, fitness, relaxation, weight loss, recovery, spiritual wellness, etc. These locations do not accommodate other groups: business, conferences or external guests visiting the spa for a day or a few hours. They are also adult-only locations.

This category will include programmes that include:

  • minimum one night accommodation 
  • an all-day programme, including evenings - including activities for body, mind, emotional and spiritual balance. The programme will be followed by all those enrolled in the retreat.
  • a fresh food menu, specially designed according to the activities

HOTEL SPA - Accommodation at least 3*

  • The spa must be fully managed and operated by the owner
  • Spa reception can be shared with the reception of other leisure activities of the hotel, but not with the reception for accommodation
  • Spa facilities:
    • either 1 swimming pool, either 1 vitality pool (with effects/jets), indoor or outdoor
    • - at least 1 wellness facilitye.g: Jacuzzi, other type of pool, sauna, Tepidarium etc.
  • The Spa offers a Menu of Spa Services performed by Spa Therapists, containing at least massage

  • The resort is located in one of the locations that by their nature attract a large number of holidaymakers.
  • The core business is the 'holiday destination', offering various leisure activities, of which the Spa is the key activity.
  • The spa must be fully managed and operated by the owner
  • At least 2 other leisure activities must be offered in addition to the Spa, such as: ski hire, guided hikes, horse riding, golf, bike hire, etc., all of which must also be managed and operated by the property.
  • Spa reception is exclusively for Spa guests
  • Spa facilities:
    • either 1 swimming pool, either 1 vitality pool (with effects/jets), indoor or outdoor
    • at least 3 wellness facilitiese.g: Jacuzzi, other types of pools, saunas, ice fountain, Tepidarium, salt room, Zen Garden, etc.

 

  • The spa offers a Menu of spa services performed by spa therapists, containing a wide selection of wet and dry spa treatments.
