Finn Partners has released a new report entitled The future of wellness tourism 2025, which includes key trends that will shape the future of global wellness tourism. The study highlights the emerging trends and wellness destinations that are becoming essential in global development strategies.
Published at Global Wellness Summit 2024, the report includes data, expert insights and concrete examples of innovations designed to meet travelers' growing desire to be part of the growing wellness movement.
According to Finn Partners, wellness tourism is entering a "golden age," with vacationers around the world increasingly looking for experiences that improve their well-being. In a recent report, Global Wellness Institute estimated the value of the wellness tourism sector at $830 billion, projected to reach $1.4 trillion by 2027.
"There was a time when a hotel only needed a massage table, a sauna and a steam room to attract guests. Today, wellness is everywhere as travelers look for inventive ways to improve their personal well-being," said Cathy Feliciano-Chon, managing partner of the division Global Travel Practice from Finn Partners.
Report The future of wellness tourism 2025 highlights Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Iceland and Italy as emerging destinations for wellness tourism, based on their substantial investment in infrastructure, rich natural landscapes and innovative hospitality offerings.
"These destinations are transforming the concept of rejuvenation through travel experiences that transcend the ordinary," says Amy Skelding, managing partner and head of the UK travel division at Finn Partners.
