Watsu is a type of massage very delicate.
This is done in warm, deep water up to the arm. The name "watsu" is a combination of the words "water" and "shiatsu". This massage was created by Harold Dull in 1980 when he began applying Jen Shiatsu stretches with students in the warm water of the Harbin Hot Springs pool in California.
A spa practicing such a treatment must have a special Watsu pool, with water heated to human body temperature. Some spas have outdoor Watsu pools surrounded by walls and covered in glass.
During the Watsu treatment, the therapist cradles the body in the water, with one hand supporting the client's knees and the other supporting the back. One of the client's hands is wrapped around the therapist for extra support, and the other floats freely. The therapist rotates the client's body back and forth in the water, putting it through a series of stretches and rotations.
