We can say that these new wellness trends are a lever through which spa towns Romanian can bring back to the surface the characteristic image of the period 1850-1940. Through consumers of such services, the local economy may grow, gradually decreasing dependence on state policies. During this period of revival, a number of other seaside resorts have also started to move into this sector. Studies show that while internationally the number of consumers of wellness is still quite small, the profitability of this sector is extremely high.
So far, many spa towns in Europe have moved towards providing such services. Popularity of the sector spa is growing not only in spa towns but also in other places such as urbanized centers and tourist destinations without bathing resources - mineral or thermal. It is also interesting to note the trend for hotels to invest in such facilities, Spas contributing to business prosperity.
Another complementary aspect of the wellness sector that has been gaining momentum recently is anti-aging treatments. Often cities spa invest in dermato-cosmetic products helping to establish a local brand by offering a wide range of treatments to combat these problems, with France and its spa towns being the best examples (Vichy, La Roche Posay).
