Bucharest, November 15, 2024. Over 40,000 people from more than 10 countries in Europe and America, eager to relax and unwind, came to Therme Bucharest from October 7-27, for the Sauna Fest, the biggest sauna performance festival in the world and the only one of its kind in Romania. The 6th edition of the festival attracted Romanians from all corners of the country but also foreigners, the percentage of the latter rising to almost 33%.
Foreign festival-goers came from countries such as the Netherlands, the UK, Italy, Germany, Bulgaria, Serbia, Greece, the USA, Spain, Estonia, Denmark, the UK, Italy, Serbia, Greece, Spain and the USA.

Sauna Fest 2024 opened the doors to a new wellness activities program adapted to the cold season, activities included in the Therme access fee. The new program offers experiences focusing on acclimatization, preparing the body for the challenges of the cold season, specific skin health therapies and sessions dedicated to improving lung capacity. As the temperatures drop, these special rituals help the body transition into winter, fortifying the body's resilience and supporting respiratory functions. Each treatment is designed to boost immunity, rejuvenation and skin regeneration, and the sauna and Aufguss sessions curated by the best international masters help not only to relax the mind and body but also to increase lung capacity and natural protection against the cold.
Nature was and will always be the primary source of inspiration for the universe of Therme Bucharest experiences. Thus began winter activities program, which comes with new activities and rituals - Sirocco, Almond Beauty, Dalchini, Cocha Cashu, and in the new saunas Ad Astra and A Terra specific activities are available - Solar Wind, ForeGlow, FreeStyle, Herbarium, Smoke Ritual. From Monday through Thursday visitors will benefit from 47 wellness activities per day, while from Friday through Sunday the number of activities included in the admission fee amounts to 58.

With the inauguration of the 2 new panoramic saunas, Ad Asta and A Terra, the simultaneous capacity of the Therme saunas has increased to over 470 seats, but also the number of Aufguss activities taking place at the same time has increased so that visitors can choose their favorite experience at any time.
Time 21 days, The Therme themed saunas were the stages for the most spectacular sauna shows by the world's best Aufguss Masters. They guided the participants on a journey of the senses through special techniques naturally combining storytelling with theater, music and sauna. This year's edition year brought to Bucharest over 80 Aufguss masters from 20 countries who delighted the public with over 500 unique rituals. The event also saw the inauguration of two new saunas in the Elysium area, with a total capacity of over 140 seats - Ad Astra and A Terra.

Another highlight of Sauna Fest 2024 were themed saunaseach with its own world of relaxation: Bavaria, Provence, Hollywood, Alhambra, Amazon, Himalayas. To these were added the 2 new saunas, To Astra and Earth, built from scratch on the occasion of the 6th edition of Sauna Fest, which adds 140 seats to the capacity of the largest sauna complex in Romania. These innovative spaces combine modern design with state-of-the-art technology to create a unique and captivating atmosphere, in line with the demands of both local sauna lovers and international guests.
Already an international benchmark, Sauna Fest is the only festival in the world to devote 21 days exclusively to this art. Sauna shows were held hourly from early in the morning until late in the evening. Visitors reiterated that the festival deserves its global recognition.
Thus, With thousands of international tourists as guests, as well as invited specialists from all over the world, Therme has once again put Bucharest on the global map of wellness destinations.
Sauna Fest, already known by international tourists, is the only wellness event in Romania that rivals in scale with renowned festivals in our country. The sixth edition of Sauna Feste offered daily over 25 impressive shows by Aufguss Masters who, using essential oils and special techniques, turned each session into a real show.
Known the world over for their health benefits, such as improved cardio-vascular system, lung capacity and immune system, saunas originated in Finland around 2000 years ago and have remained a haven for relaxation, relaxation, balance and pampering to this day.
The Aufguss ritual is a special technique in which a wellness master uses ice cubes with natural essential oils to spread the steam from the sauna with a towel, fan or flag.
